Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke was on TV one night over spring break. I forget what channel, but my brother was watching it. I got to see a large part of it. Although the animation was very similar, the story and characters were amazingly different than those in Spirited Away. Before the movies, I had a distinct impression that anime it was all similar. These movies have changed my mind. I even found myself defending anime when my mother made steryotipical comments about bad animation and bad plots. I enjoyed Spirited Away more than Princess Mononoke, but now I am glad I have seen both.

"The Silver Dragon"

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story because it reminds me of the fairy tales that I read as a child. The man goes and sacrifices himself to save his beloved. I thought it was interesting how the Silver Dragon could be part dragon and part human at the same time. Also, I loved the fact that Joanna strived to be efficient in riding, sword play, hunting, etc... She seemed like a fabulous person to be around cause she was well rounded and engergetic. She went after what she wanted and did not allow anyone to stop her. What are your thoughts on this story?
