SInging My Sister Down

I thought this was the saddest story. It just seemed so cruel to let Ik sink in the tar like that. That was the weirdest death penalty ever. Everyone except Ik's family is just around partying while Ik's family is with her saying their goodbyes and giving her a good sendoff. I like the mother wanting to shoot her so that she wouldn't have had to suffer. But I'm glad she didn't because then she probably would have had to sink in the tar too.

When I first read the title of the story I thought of maybe singing someone down from doing something bad, like suicide or jumping off a building, like a negotiator. I really liked this story even though it was really sad.

This was my favorite story, and I can't decide why. For such a short story, it is very impressive how much emotion it could create in the reader.

I liked this story too but it didn't really seem like fantasy to me. There were no fantastical elements at all that I can remember. I did think it was weird that these people were living in tribes but that the mom was able to get a gun with a silencer. By the sound of this story it seemed like this took place hundreds of years to go to me, except for a few elements like that one.

I thought it ironic that her name is Ikky and she was sinking in that mud/tar
