Our Favorite Rake
My paper will be on Lord Byron's role in JS&MN: how he is represented, his relationship with Strange, and the clever footnote about Manfred. Problem is, I don't have a narrow thesis and could use some help from my eager and brilliant classmates. I plan to use the text of Manfred as a second source, so the paper might have two parts: Byron's role and the poem's correlation to the plot.

Katie, I think this sounds very good, and with your knowledge of Byron, I'm sure it will turn out to be very interesting too. What else do you need to narrow?
Oh, will there be any discussion of sex in it?
Haha, if Katie doesn't add a section about sex in her paper and presentation I will be thoroughly disappointed. This sounds like an interestig but difficult paper to write. Lord Byron was a minor but extremely thought provoking character because I was not sure exactly what role he played in the novel. Katie, I would like to hear your explaination why he was included in the novel.
I'm really not a perv!
Though supposedly Byron seduced his (half) sister, as seen in "Manfred," his semi-autobiographical dramatic poem.
