The Best Song Ever

The Peter, Paul and Mary song is now my favorite song of all time. It is practically perfect in every way! The lyrics and music fit the tone of our class exactly, very woodsy and mystical. The inclusion of animals and apostrophe makes it enchanting and otherwordly, and dammit, it rocks!

Also, you can never go wrong with Jethro Tull. Nothing like a fab flute solo to make your day!

I was a little upset that our Peter, Paul, and Mary selection wasn't "Puff, the Magic Dragon" because it was my fav growing up! My dad and I used to dance to it before I went to bed. Of course, my sisters got more serious songs (i.e. "Blowin' in the Wind" & "Leaving on a Jet Plane"). Not really sure why I got the one with the narcotic allusions. Haha, but "Leatherwing Bat" is good too...

I'm a big fan of the c.d. I put the songs that I didn't already have on my iPod. It is so neat to think about songs that I have heard so often and now think of them in the context of our class. My thoughts on music are now more expanded.

I agree with Amy, I think "Puff, the Magic Dragon" would definitely have fit in with the other songs on the CD.

Leatherwing bat is an amazing song. My mom used to put on Peter, Paul and Mommy when she got tired of Raffi and all the other incredibly annoying kids music. I had never heard this one before and really like it.

Anyone remember the name of the kids show that had the two women singers, the man and the elephant? I think one of the women's names was Sharon.

Stacy: skita marinky dinky dink? was that the song that they always sang?

all: I agree Puff was one of my favs...it was part of my influence of dragon obsession in days gone by.
