jonathan strange & mr. norrell

i think that this book has destroyed my love of reading. i read it over my spring break and finished last night. i have never felt like i have wasted so much time on one book as much as i have wasted on this one. i don't think i can read anything else for a while...it would just make me angry because i could have been reading something better while wasting my time on this book. but that's just my opinion.

Maybe it's just me. I just really did not like it at all. I love to read and even books I'm forced to read for classes I eventually get into and want to finish them. Or even if I don't like the book I can eventually get to like it better after thinking about it. But this was not the case for this one. I guess I just didn't get into like I was supposed to.

The first hundred pages definitely dragged a bit, but from there it really picked up. I am starting to read one or two chapters at a time but pick up the book several times per day. It is startling that around page 650, she starts a new plot about a crazy lady that speaks cat only. I cannot figure out where it is all going to end.

I really liked the footnotes at first but I must admit as they started to be a page long and so many they get kind of tiresome......thought the info is intersting
